Brief
EV Wales approached Four Waves in 2023 with a bold ambition: to position themselves as the go-to provider of renewable energy technology for commercial clients across Wales - and to attract future investment along the way.
Solution
This was a project I was genuinely excited to dive into; not just because of the creative challenge, but because it asked a bigger question: how do you share a company’s vision in a way that feels real, grounded, and compelling - especially to both customers and investors?
As I began researching, one thing became clear: no one had yet claimed the story of leading Wales’ renewable energy revolution. The more I dug into it, the more the narrative practically wrote itself. EV Wales was doing more than installing tech—they were building on the country’s industrial past to power a cleaner, greener future.
That’s when the concept for the brand story video came together: a journey across Wales in an EV Wales-branded electric vehicle, stopping at iconic locations and highlighting real projects. Visually strong, proudly local, and rooted in the company’s mission.
Pulling this off took some serious planning - many of the most breathtaking Welsh locations aren’t exactly roadside accessible. And, as always, we needed to balance creative ambition with efficiency and value for the client.
The end result was a beautifully shot piece featuring stops throughout South, Mid, and North Wales, interwoven with additional footage captured from the EV Wales Stories video shoots.
We also integrated historical archive footage from the Welsh mining industry - offering a sense of heritage - and had EV Wales founder Nick narrate the piece, adding authenticity and human connection (and also perfect when used as a pitch or tender video, which was part of the brief).
Result
The video had immediate and lasting impact. It’s now been used successfully across multiple channels - rom the website to major tender pitches - serving as a professional, inspiring brand introduction.
Compared to the time users typically spend browsing a website, this brand video delivers far more in a shorter window: more clarity, more feeling, and more connection. It's storytelling that pitches, educates, and inspires all at once.
We also captured a broad range of photography and additional footage along the way, which helped build out a robust brand asset library. This content became the foundation of EV Wales’ new website - replacing generic stock photography on their previous website with imagery that felt real, relevant, and proudly Welsh.
Pulling this all together took serious effort - but that just made the result even more rewarding.
